Dear DVRP Family,
As Women’s History Month draws to a close and we enter Sexual Violence Awareness month, we reflect on the continued need for DVRP’s work and services during a time when Asian women are particularly impacted by violence in our homes, on the streets and in the larger community.

Dear friends of DVRP,
Happy Lunar New Year! As we being a new year we hope to see a paradigm shift when it comes to the way in which we respond to survivors of gender-based violence. We hope that as a community we can build together to provide support and resources for survivors and also challenge victim blaming and shaming.

Dear friends of DVRP,
As we are closing out a very chaotic, traumatic yet unforgettable year, we are taking time to reflect on what we are thankful for, and what we are looking forward to in the coming year. The pandemic has impacted our community in multiple ways; we noticed an upsurge of calls during the initials months of the pandemic by survivors who were quarantining with their abusers with limited options to leave, many survivors struggled financially as they lost jobs due to the pandemic, and many were left without access to technology such as smartphones, internet access and laptops during a time when we all depended on them for our everyday life.

Healing Space
Hold survivor-centered space with us for our final 3 healing spaces. We built our "online healing space" series to answer the question of how we can be "intentional to this moment, and sustainable to the movement." All are welcome as we explore healing, joy, creativity, and intuition together.

Dear friends of DVRP,
As we enter fall, we are also wrapping up our fiscal year; it has been a challenging one with the increased need for our services since the onset of the pandemic. The change in seasons, the pandemic and the isolation we are all currently experiencing can lead many of us to feel a shift in our emotions and mental health.

Dear friends of DVRP,
The past two months have been intense for DVRP. We continued to navigate the “new normal” of the pandemic by continuing providing services for survivors remotely. We have seen a steady increase in hotline calls and cases during the pandemic and are so grateful to many of you who responded to our various requests for support during this time. Thanks to your support, as well as that of our partner agencies such as Freefrom and Justice for Muslim Collective, we have been able to provide over 40 survivors with small emergency funds to cover expenses ranging from paying rent, groceries, technology needs and other essentials.
