Artist Highlight: Saba Akram

How do you see your art connecting with healing or justice?

ree

My art reflects my journey of growth, resilience, and womanhood. By sharing these portraits and narratives, I hope to create a space where people feel seen and understood. I hope to offer healing through recognition and shared humanity.

What inspires your art or guides your creative practice?

My artistic practice is inspired by my Pakistani-American heritage, experiences of womanhood, and reflections on identity and resilience. I am drawn to bold colors, floral motifs, and moody portraits that explore personal stories while inviting connection with others. I aim to create work that feels both intimate and universally relatable.

What kind of artistic collaborations are you open to?

I love to collaborate with other artists! I love the idea of combining my visual art with writing. I'd love to create illustrations for a written book or for poetry. I am also open to community based collaboration such as group murals or group exhibitions.

How can people support, buy, or experience your work?

Sabaakramart.com for updates. I’ll be sharing online shop updates where you can purchase my artwork online!

I also use IG to share my art and events I’m going to be attending/vending at if you would prefer to purchase from me in person.

Best way for folks to reach out to you?
